Volkswagen ID. Buzz Overview

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is a part of Volkswagen’s ID. series of electric vehicles, which represents the automaker’s push into the world of electric mobility. The ID. Buzz, in particular, draws heavy inspiration from the iconic VW Microbus (or Kombi/Type 2) from the mid-20th century, a vehicle that became synonymous with the counterculture movement of the 1960s. This modern reinterpretation seeks to merge nostalgia with modern EV technology.

The ID. Buzz is a clear nod to the classic Microbus in its design. However, while the overall shape and aesthetic cues are reminiscent of the original, the ID. Buzz is undeniably modern, with clean lines, LED lighting, and contemporary styling elements. The ID. Buzz is built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, which is the modular electric platform developed specifically for their new range of electric vehicles. This ensures optimized weight distribution, a spacious interior, and better overall performance for electric driving.

The ID. Buzz is powered by a 77-kWh battery pack that provides a range of up to 340 miles (547 km) on a single charge. It is available with a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive powertrain. The ID. Buzz is available in two body styles: a passenger van and a cargo van. The passenger van can seat up to 7 people, while the cargo van can accommodate up to 3.5 cubic meters of cargo.
