The Top-Selling Vehicles in the U.S Automotive Market for 2007
In 2007, the U.S. auto market began to see some shifts, but trucks and SUVs, especially from domestic automakers, continued to be popular. The housing and financial crises also began to have an impact on the auto industry towards the end of that year. Pickup trucks were the best-selling vehicles in the U.S. in 2007, with the Ford F-Series and Chevrolet Silverado leading the way. The Toyota Camry was the best-selling passenger car, followed by the Honda Accord and Toyota Corolla/Matrix.
Consistently the top-selling vehicle in the U.S., the Ford F-Series maintained its position in 2007. GM’s full-size pickup truck, the Chevrolet Silverado remained a strong seller, holding onto the second spot. The Toyota Camry continued its reign as one of America’s favorite sedans, leading the passenger car pack yet again. The Honda Accord is another long-standing favorite in the passenger car category. The Dodge Ram (now known as Ram Pickup) was Chrysler’s full-size pickup remained in high demand. The Toyota Corolla along with its hatchback counterpart the Matrix, combined to make a strong sales showing, as did the Honda Civic, the always hot-selling compact that consistently ranked among the top-selling cars. The Chevrolet Impala is GM’s large sedan and it remained a popular choice among U.S. buyers.
