Nissan Almera Sales Figures

Nissan Almera

The Nissan Almera is a compact car model produced by the Japanese automaker Nissan. It was essentially the European counterpart to the Nissan Sentra and Nissan Pulsar sold in other parts of the world. The Nissan Almera was replaced in 2007 by the Nissan Tiida.

Nissan Almera Overview

The Almera nameplate was introduced in Europe in 1995, replacing the Nissan Sunny. The Almera went through several generations, with production ending around the mid-2000s for most European markets. The first generation (N15; 1995-2000) was launched as a successor to the Nissan Sunny in Europe. It was available in both hatchback and sedan body styles. The second generation (N16; 2000-2006) followed, featuring more refined styling and improved technologies. It was also available in both sedan and hatchback versions. The design was more in line with Nissan’s global design language of the time.

Over its production life, the Almera was available with a range of gasoline and diesel engines. This included smaller displacement petrol engines for city driving and larger ones for better highway performance, as well as diesel variants for better fuel economy. While the Almera was essentially a budget-friendly, compact car, over the years and across its trims, it came with features that catered to a wide range of consumers. This included basic features for an affordable entry point and more advanced options, including safety and comfort features, for higher trims.

Note: After its production ceased in Europe, the Almera name continued in other markets, particularly in Southeast Asia. However, these models differ significantly from the European Almera and are more aligned with Nissan’s global compact sedan offerings.

Nissan Almera Sales Figures

The Nissan Almera was generally well-received for its reliability and practicality, especially in European markets. It was considered a solid choice for those looking for an affordable compact car with good fuel efficiency and reasonable maintenance costs.
