Hyundai Matrix

The Hyundai Matrix was replaced in 2010 by the Hyundai ix20. The Hyundai Matrix, also known as the Hyundai Elantra LaVita in some markets, was a compact MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) produced by the South Korean automaker Hyundai. It was manufactured from 2001 to 2010 and was primarily targeted at the European market, although it was sold in various other regions as well.

The Matrix was offered with a variety of gasoline and diesel engine options. Common choices included a 1.6-liter or 1.8-liter gasoline engine and a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine. Depending on the market and year, there were options for both manual and automatic transmissions.

The Hyundai Matrix competed in the compact MPV segment, going up against vehicles like the Opel/Vauxhall Zafira, Ford Focus C-Max, and Renault Scénic. It was a segment that saw significant popularity in the early to mid-2000s, especially in Europe.
