Options and accessories are the easiest way for automakers to make money. The years and millions of $ that go in to researching and developing a vehicle – especially a car that may not sell for top dollar – can strip away much of the profit; even when sales number in the hundreds of thousands. Thus, accessorize. For instance, as if Porsche doesn’t make enough coin already, they’ll charge you $2,100 USD for a sport exhaust system on a base Porsche Boxster. Accessories reek of profits.
So how does it all take place? Here’s a clip from General Motors of their own head of Global Accessories Design, Larry Sully, in the studio. Plus, a look at the new Camaro; a very good thing.
