A small number of ’07 Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedans, the German luxury automakers largest and most luxurious four-door, are being recalled because of a supplier problem that resulted in a radial knuckle of the front strut that isn’t up to snuff. As the odometer rolls, NHTSA says, the mileage accumulation and exposure to high stress on rough roads could result in a failed knuckle; making the vehicle very difficult to steer.
Only 1,515 examples of the S-Class Benz fall under the banner of this NHTSA Recall. Before the end of the year Mercedes-Benz will start issuing notice. Dealers will look at the production date to know if the vehicle’s radial knuckle could be one of the struts affected and if so, replaced accordingly.
